Happy birthday to me

Well, time to start writing again.  I have a number of things to write about, so the blog will see life this week.

In the meantime: I received the sacrament of Baptism 23 years ago today.  Having been born two weeks prior, I was reborn into God’s kingdom on that day.  Yay!

OK, highly ignorant question on my part. Do some Catholics gauge their age from date of baptism, or do all you know of use date of actual birth?

As far as post topics, I’d put a vote in for some thoughts on the Catholic refusal to allow LDS groups to use Catholic birth registrars. So far, the only voices I’ve heard on the subject have been Mormons who think it’s a senseless decision, and disgruntled ex-Mormons who think any setback for the LDS Church is occasion to celebrate. It would be nice to hear at least one Catholic voice on the subject.

Hey Seth. No, Catholic birthdays are actual-birth days. I just thought it’d be fun to celebrate my baptism too.

The parish records thing is definitely on the top of the pile, so look for that soon.

    Thanks for the comment.

    Seth,

You can find a Catholic voice on that subject here.
