I don’t know what happened. Mormons, kindly go back to your blogs and pick on the Catholic Church, then send me links and summaries so I can have something to write about. Thanks.
On a serious note, I have resumed work on an old project that promises to be way more fun and exciting and useful than the blog of late. On a note related to that, if you have at least four of the following:
* knowledge of SQL, PHP, or (especially) AJAX
* familiarity with, or curiosity about, early Church writings
* a potentially large amount of time to kill
* patience
* loyalty to the Catholic Church (required)
then the project may benefit from your help. But it’s a long way from ready, so, you know, just think about it.
Is this that thing you were going to work with Mike Aquilina on? I only have about 3 out of 5, but if there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
Brad, I am just a bit confused here. What exactly do want us Mormons to do? If you want to exercise your thinker you can come over to http://mormonthing.wordpress.com where we talk about the dark mysteries of the universe – sometimes. But be forwarned – support your contentions with legitimate sources. I especailly like people who can challenge me. If you are smart and know your stuff then please stop by.
Or, if you’re stupid, and don’t know what you’re talking about, you can join me over at my blog.
Good one Seth. But I’ll bet you are smarter than you think.
More seriously now, if the discussion doesn’t make us think then it is a waste of time. We might as well be over at some kiddie slash and burn site. I don’t know about you guys, but I want to learn something. Smart people who challenge me make that happen. I want to know what Catholicism knows. Opinions are a lesser form of entertainment – they really don’t count for much. I want to know what Acquinas knew or Plinny or Justin or Augustine or the other early church fathers. What were the Jews teaching? What were the Syrians thinking at the time? If someone challenges me to defend theosis I will do so. But what nauseates me are the childish pratteling misbehaviors of places like MormonCoffee and CARN and others of their ilk. Does any one seriously think Ed Decker knows anything worth asking about? Lets talk about Calvin or Campbell.
Brad, on a positive note, how about a book review of Michael Ash’s new treatise “Shaken Faith Syndrome?” Is it barely possible some of the apologetics are getting through to the intended audience?
